The theory of braids is an active area of research at the interface between algebra, topology and geometry, and has various applications to other domains of mathematics and the sciences. Recently, fundamental and surprising connections between braid groups, configuration spaces and homotopy theory have come to light, and have stimulated the mutual development of each of these topics. The focus of the meeting “Braid groups, configuration spaces and homotopy theory” will be on these three areas and the interplay between them.
